JMI Equity’s Emery, Greenberg, Hersman, and Nye Named to the 2016 GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List
JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies, is pleased to announce that four General Partners have been named to the 2016 GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors list: Matt Emery, David Greenberg, Brian Hersman, and Bob Nye. Emery and Nye were both featured for the second year in a row. GrowthCap, a leading growth capital research and advisory firm, compiles the annual list based on a methodical review of the nominated investor’s deal experience, overall background, firm reputation, and other key factors.

Matt Emery, a General Partner in JMI’s San Diego office, joined JMI in 2006 and focuses on the firm’s investments in software and healthcare IT businesses. His investment experience includes Axonify, Capsule Tech (acquired by Qualcomm, NASDAQ: QCOM), Gemcom (acquired by Dassault Systèmes; Euronext: DSY), Granicus (acquired by K1 Capital), Navicure (acquired by Bain Capital), PointClickCare, Vocalocity (acquired by Vonage; NYSE: VG), and Workfront.
David Greenberg, a General Partner in the Baltimore office, joined JMI in 2006 and is currently a director of automotiveMastermind, Businessolver, CoreHR, Intelex and SiriusDecisions. His investment experience also includes Empathica (acquired by Mindshare Technologies), Internet Brands (acquired by KKR), Lytx (acquired by GTCR), ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW), The Search Agency, and TC3 Health (acquired by Emdeon; NYSE: EM).
Brian Hersman, a General Partner in the San Diego office, joined JMI in 2008. His investment experience includes BigMachines (acquired by Oracle; NASDAQ: ORCL), Classy, EMS Software, Innovative Interfaces, Intradiem, and PowerPlan (acquired by Thoma Bravo).
Bob Nye, a General Partner in the Baltimore office, joined JMI in 2005. His investment experience includes Appriss (acquired by Insight Venture Partners), Axeda (acquired by PTC; NASDAQ: PTC), Harmony Information Systems (acquired by Mediware Information Systems), QuIC (acquired by Markit), Seismic Micro-Technology (acquired by IHS; NYSE: IHS), and Undertone (acquired by Perion; NASDAQ: PERI). He is currently a Director of Adknowledge, Benevity, DoubleVerify, and Higher Logic, as well as a member of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) Board of Directors.
