GrowthCap’s 2019 Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors Once Again Features Multiple JMI Equity Professionals
JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies, is pleased that multiple JMI investment professionals have been recognized on the 2019 GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List. GrowthCap, a leading growth capital research and advisory firm, compiles its annual list based on nominations from market participants and a methodical review of each nominated investor’s deal experience, background, and career trajectory, as well as the reputation and track record of the nominee’s firm. JMI General Partners Bob Nye and Matt Emery were named to the list for the fifth consecutive year; General Partner Dave Greenberg was named to the list for the third time; General Partner Suken Vakil was recognized for the second consecutive year; and Principal Larry Contrella made his debut on this year’s edition.

Bob Nye, a General Partner in the Baltimore office, joined JMI in 2005 and has deep experience helping growth companies build value. He is currently a director of Adknowledge, AlertMedia, Benevity, Cosential, Higher Logic, Level Access, and Raptor Technologies.
Matt Emery, a General Partner in the San Diego office, joined JMI in 2006 and focuses on JMI’s investments in the software and healthcare IT businesses. He currently a director of Axonify, CipherHealth, Clio, Healthx, Jvion, and PointClickCare.
Suken Vakil, a General Partner in the San Diego office, joined JMI in 2012 and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities as well as providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies. He currently serves on the boards of Applied Systems, Arena Solutions, HackerRank, and Lytics and is a board observer at Code42 and Seismic Software.
Dave Greenberg, a General Partner in the Baltimore office, joined JMI in 2006 and has over a decade of experience partnering with growing SaaS companies. He currently serves on the boards of Businessolver, CoreHR, RainFocus, and Unanet.
Larry Contrella, a Principal in the Baltimore office, joined JMI in 2010 and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities and providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies.
