JMI Partners, Larry Contrella and Suken Vakil named to GrowthCap’s Top Software Investors of 2024
JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies, is excited to announce that JMI Partners, Larry Contrella and Suken Vakil have been named to GrowthCap’s Top Software Investors of 2024.
This is the sixth year GrowthCap has conducted this award process, and the fourth consecutive year JMI has featured a team member on this list. This award recognizes investors with strong understanding of the software ecosystem and recognizes nominee’s overall career, breadth of investing experience, capability for scaling companies, recent investments made and exited, as well as character, among other factors.
Larry Contrella, Partner, joined JMI in 2010. Larry is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities as well as providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies. Larry is currently a director of Apptegy, Bloomerang, ChurnZero, Incident IQ, RainFocus, and Raptor Technologies. Prior to joining JMI, Larry was an analyst in the multi-industries group in the investment banking division at Merrill Lynch & Co.
Suken Vakil, Partner, joined JMI in 2012. Suken is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities as well as providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies. Suken is currently a director of ButterflyMX, Fullbay, HackerRank, Huntress, Lytics, SOCi, and Whistic and a board observer at Seismic Software. Prior to joining JMI, Suken was an associate at Hellman & Friedman, where he invested in software and digital media companies. He assists portfolio companies with growth initiatives, joint ventures, and exit opportunities. Earlier, Suken worked as an investment banker in the financial sponsors group at Morgan Stanley, where he advised software, information technology and other companies on leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and public offerings including the sale of DoubleClick to Google.
