Industry Veteran is Latest Addition to Leadership Team as Adaptive Insights Readies for Continued Growth
PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Adaptive Insights, a recognized leader in cloud corporate performance management (CPM), today announced it has named Melanie Vinson its new general counsel and secretary. An experienced strategic legal executive with a background in both leading technology companies and private practice, Vinson will direct all legal affairs for the company and will be secretary of the Board of Directors.
“Melanie’s strategic guidance and extensive legal expertise will be pivotal as we grow our business and scale our organization,” said Tom Bogan, CEO of Adaptive Insights. “Melanie has artfully navigated businesses in the cloud industry and beyond through major acquisitions and growth initiatives, and she’s done so with an unwavering devotion to teamwork, diversity, and community. She’s a terrific fit for our leadership team at Adaptive Insights, and we’re thrilled to welcome her.”
Vinson joins Adaptive Insights after serving for five years as deputy general counsel of Workday, Inc., where she helped lead the company through its initial public offering and was responsible for the corporate and employment legal teams. Prior to Workday, Vinson was assistant general counsel at Hewlett-Packard Company, where she worked on the acquisition of Compaq Computer Corporation and was the lead attorney for the servers and storage business. She began her career at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom, where she focused on domestic and international corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
“Adaptive Insights is in a market where the rising tides lift all boats,” said Vinson. “While the cloud is becoming more prevalent throughout all facets of business, organizations are also becoming more comfortable putting their financial information in the cloud. I’m excited to be aligned with a company that is driving this shift throughout a wide range of businesses, and is also improving the performance of community organizations and nonprofits that make a difference in our world.”
With a demonstrated commitment to community service, Vinson has served on the Board of Directors of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley since 2002, including as Board chair, and has served in a variety of roles in other community organizations focused on education and diversity. Adaptive Insights works with more than 500 nonprofit organizations, such as California Academy of Sciences, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), which aligns with Vinson’s professional and personal passion.
