Catapult Learning Announces Acquisition of Ohio-Based Autism Schools
Camden, New Jersey (PRWEB) July 06, 2016
Catapult Learning, Inc. has acquired the Center for Autism and Dyslexia (CFAD), a specialized school program with locations in Findlay and Lima, Ohio, serving approximately 140 students diagnosed with autism, dyslexia, and other special needs. Effective June 29, 2016, the program joined Catapult Learning’s Schools Division, which includes schools and programs specifically designed for special education students classified with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as at-risk students requiring alternative education programming, including both transitional programs and dropout prevention/recovery programs.
Founded in 2006 by Susan Pneuman, Ph.D., the Center for Autism and Dyslexia is Catapult Learning’s first Ohio-based autism program and second special education acquisition in the past three months. Dr. Pneuman, a trained psychologist, an expert in the field of autism, and a strong advocate for families seeking services for their children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, will join Catapult Learning’s Schools Division as Director of Autism Services.
Andrea Vargas, President of Catapult Learning’s Schools Division, expressed enthusiasm for the addition of CFAD as well as for Dr. Pneuman’s expertise and advocacy in the field of autism.
“We are excited to welcome the students, staff, and families of the Center for Autism and Dyslexia to the Catapult Learning family,” said Vargas. “This acquisition represents a significant merger of two mission-driven organizations seeking to provide the highest-quality services to students on the autism spectrum. Our school programs will benefit greatly from Dr. Pneuman’s experience and expertise as we refine and expand our autism platform on the national level.”
CFAD’s leadership and staff will remain in place, joining a nationwide network of more than 5,000 educators providing services across Catapult Learning’s programs.
