Larry Contrella, David Greenberg, and Brian Hersman named to GrowthCap’s Top Software Investors of 2023
JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software companies, is pleased to announce three JMI investment professionals have been recognized by GrowthCap as among The Top Software Investors of 2023. General Partners Larry Contrella, David Greenberg, and Brian Hersman are included amongst the impressive list of awardees.
The 2023 awardees are some of the most experienced, accomplished, and exceptional individuals in software investing. Many of this year’s candidates received a remarkable number of substantive nominations from CEOs and other colleagues who had worked extensively with the candidate. The most highly endorsed were then selected for final rounds where they were further evaluated based capital allocation and investment judgement, fundamental business expansion capabilities which includes strategic, tactical and operational expertise. Moreover, and most importantly, the best investors operate with high integrity and are consistent in their care of their teams, portfolio companies, other key stakeholders as well as the broader communities they impact.
Larry Contrella, a General Partner in the Baltimore office, joined JMI in 2010. He is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities as well as providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies. Larry is currently a director of Apptegy, Bloomerang, ChurnZero, Incident IQ, RainFocus, and Raptor Technologies.
David Greenberg, a General Partner in the Washington, D.C. office, joined JMI in 2006. He has been helping build leading growth companies at JMI for over a decade. David is currently a director of Bloomerang, Businessolver, Employee Navigator, RainFocus, ServiceTrade, Unanet, and Vantaca.
Brian Hersman, a General Partner in the San Diego office, focusing on enterprise software. He has been part of the JMI team since 2008. Brian is currently a director of Eptura, Greenlight Guru, Intradiem, and Swiftly, and is a board observer at CompanyCam and Visting Media.
